How Does AI Tagging for Hashtags Work?

AI Smart Tagging automatically assigns hashtags to uploaded photos and videos based on their content. Instead of guests manually picking a hashtag, Chivent's AI analyzes each upload and tags it for you.

How It Works

  1. You create hashtags for your event (e.g., #ceremony, #cake, #dancing, #portraits)
  2. Enable Smart Tagging from the Albums & Hashtags page
  3. When guests upload a photo, the AI analyzes it and assigns the most relevant hashtag automatically

Guests don't need to do anything — the tagging happens in the background.

Example

A guest uploads a photo of people on the dance floor. The AI recognizes the scene and tags it with #dancing. A close-up of the cake gets tagged #cake. Group portraits get tagged #portraits.

How to Enable It

  1. Go to your event dashboard and open Albums & Hashtags > Hashtags tab
  2. Toggle Smart Tagging on
  3. Make sure you have relevant hashtags created — the AI matches uploads to your existing hashtags

Good to Know

  • The AI works best with descriptive hashtag names that match visual scenes
  • It's not perfect — you can always reassign hashtags manually from the Media Gallery
  • This is a premium feature — available on eligible plans
