How Do I Set a Custom URL for My Event?

By default, your event page uses a random code (e.g., chivent.com/e/a8f3k2 ). With a custom URL, you can set a readable name like chivent.com/e/sarah-and-toms-wedding .

How to Set It Up

  1. Go to your event dashboard and open Settings
  2. Click the Custom URL tab
  3. Enter your desired URL slug
  4. The system checks availability in real-time
  5. Click Save

URL Requirements

  • Lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens only
  • Must be between 3 and 50 characters
  • Must start and end with a letter or number (not a hyphen)
  • Must be unique — no two events can share the same slug

Good to Know

  • Your original random code link still works after setting a custom URL — both point to the same event
  • You can remove or change your custom URL at any time
  • Custom URLs are easier to guess than random codes — if privacy matters, consider keeping the default or adding password protection
  • This is a paid feature — available on eligible plans
