How to Download and Share Your Chivent QR Code
Every Chivent event comes with a unique QR code. When guests scan it with their phone camera, they go straight to your event page — no app needed, no typing a URL. This guide covers how to download, customize, and share your QR code.
Downloading Your QR Code
- Open your event dashboard
- Click the QR Code button in the top section of your event page
- A popup will appear showing your QR code
- Click Download to save it as a PNG image
The downloaded file is named after your event (e.g., qrcode-Sarahs-Wedding.png ) and includes a white border around the code for reliable scanning.
Customizing Your QR Code Design
Want a QR code that matches your event's style? Chivent includes a built-in QR code designer.
- In the QR code popup, click Customize Design
- This opens the QR code generator where you can:
- Change the dot style (squares, rounded, dots)
- Change the corner style
- Pick custom colors for the code and background
- Add your own logo in the center
- Switch between PNG and SVG download formats
- Preview your design in real-time
- Click Download when you're happy with the result
SVG format is recommended for print materials — it stays sharp at any size.
Choosing the Right Language
Your QR code links to your event page, which automatically displays in the guest's preferred language. Chivent supports 10+ languages including English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Japanese, and Korean.
Each language comes with a unique URL and page is not limited to a single language. Guests using a different language on their phone will see the page in their own language when available.
Ways to Share Your QR Code
At the Venue
- Table cards — print the QR code on small cards placed at each table
- Welcome sign — display it on a poster or frame at the entrance
- Screen display — show it on a TV or projector during the event
- Menu or program — include it in printed materials guests already have
- Photo booth — place it next to a photo booth so guests upload instantly
Before the Event
- Invitations — add the QR code to digital or printed invites
- WhatsApp / group chat — share the image directly in your event group
- Email — attach the QR code image or paste your event link
- Social media — post it in a private group or story
Using the Direct Link
Every event also has a shareable link you can copy from your dashboard. This is useful for:
- Sending to guests who aren't physically at the venue
- Sharing in messaging apps where scanning a QR code isn't practical
- Including in emails or digital invitations as a clickable link
Tips for Better Scanning
- Print large enough — the QR code should be at least 3cm x 3cm (about 1 inch) for reliable scanning
- Ensure contrast — dark code on a light background works best. Avoid placing it on busy or colorful backgrounds
- Test before printing — scan your downloaded QR code with your own phone to make sure it works
- Keep the quiet zone — don't crop the white border around the QR code. Scanners need that space
