My QR Code Isn't Working?
If guests are having trouble scanning your QR code, here are the most common causes and fixes.
Check the Print Quality
- Make sure the QR code is printed clearly — blurry or low-resolution prints won't scan reliably
- Avoid printing too small. The QR code should be at least 3 x 3 cm (roughly 1.2 x 1.2 inches)
- Use PDF Print format when downloading from Canva for the best resolution
Test on Multiple Devices
- Try scanning with a different phone or tablet
- Use the phone's default camera app — most modern phones scan QR codes natively without a separate app
- If the camera doesn't scan it, try a dedicated QR code scanner app
Check Event Settings
- Make sure your event is active — inactive or system-blocked events won't load
- If you've enabled password protection, guests will need to enter the password after scanning
- Verify the event link works by opening it manually in a browser
Check for Display Issues
- Avoid placing QR codes behind glass or plastic that causes glare
- Ensure there's enough contrast — dark QR code on a light background works best
- Screens displaying QR codes should be at full brightness
Try the Link Instead
Every event also has a shareable link. If the QR code isn't working, share the link directly via message or email as a backup. You can find it in your event dashboard.
