How to Use Your Free Chivent Canva QR Code Templates
Chivent includes 20 free professionally designed Canva templates for printing QR code displays, table cards, signs, and invitations. These templates are ready to customize with your event's QR code, name, and details — no design skills needed.
Where to Find the Templates
You can access the templates in two ways:
- From the website — go to chivent.com/templates to browse all available designs
- From your dashboard — after creating an event, "Templates" is available as an option of the menu.
Available Template Types
The template collection covers a range of event types and use cases:
- Wedding — elegant designs for table cards, welcome signs, and invitation inserts
- Birthday — fun and colorful layouts for party displays
- I Spy — interactive game cards where guests are asked to photograph specific moments
- General event — clean, versatile designs that work for any occasion
- Sign & display — larger format designs for entrance signs and photo booth areas
Each template includes a placeholder for your QR code and space for your event name and details.
How to Use a Template
Step 1: Choose a Template
Browse the template gallery and click on the design you like ("Templates" in the dashboard). This opens the template in Canva.
Step 2: Open in Canva
You'll be taken to Canva where the template loads in the editor. You can use Canva for free — just sign in with a Google, Facebook, or email account if you don't already have one.
Step 3: Add Your QR Code
- First, download your QR code from your Chivent event dashboard (click the QR Code button and then Download)
- In Canva, click Uploads in the left sidebar
- Upload your downloaded QR code image
- Drag it onto the template, replacing the placeholder QR code
- Resize and position it to fit the designated area
Step 4: Customize the Details
- Replace the event name with yours (e.g., "Sarah & Tom's Wedding")
- Update the date and venue if the template includes those fields
- Change colors or fonts to match your event's theme — Canva makes this easy with their toolbar
- Add or remove elements as needed
Step 5: Download and Print
- Click Share in the top-right corner of Canva
- Select Download
- Choose your format:
- PDF Print — best quality for professional printing
- PNG — good for home printing or digital sharing
- PDF Standard — suitable for home printing
- Print at your preferred size
Printing Tips
- Table cards — print on cardstock (200-300 gsm) for a sturdy, professional feel. A4 or Letter size works well for table tent cards
- Welcome signs — print at A3 or larger. Use a frame or easel for display
- Invitation inserts — print at A6 or postcard size to include in envelopes
- Photo booth signs — print at A4 or larger and laminate for durability
Customizing the QR Code Design
For a more polished look, customize your QR code design in Chivent before adding it to the template:
- In your event dashboard, click the QR Code button
- Click Customize Design
- Change colors, dot style, corner style, or add your logo
- Download the customized QR code
- Use this version in your Canva template instead of the default
A styled QR code that matches your template colors creates a more cohesive design.
